Wellington will remain under alert Level 2 COVID-19 Restrictions (https://covid19.govt.nz/alert-levels-and-updates/alert-level-2/) until 11.59pm Tuesday, 29 June 2021.
Interestingly, the Government has opened the entitlement to the Resurgence Support Payment (https://www.ird.govt.nz/covid-19/business-and-organisations/resurgence-support-payment). Generally, this is only available after 7 days of alert level change, which would have been if restrictions stayed in place beyond 6pm, Wednesday, 30 June 2021.
To be eligible, your business needs to have experienced a 30% decline in revenue or capital raising ability, when compared to a typical 7-day period, in the 6 weeks prior to the alert level change.
The entitlement amount is $1,500 per business, plus $400 per Fulltime Equivalent employee, up to a maximum of $21,500.
Note, your business does not need to be located in Wellington, it just needs to be impacted by the L2 restrictions (IE: a conference being cancelled, accommodation cancellations, etc).
Applications for the Resurgence Support Payment needs to be completed via the Inland Revenue and the business MyIR login. Applications for Resurgence Support Payments are expected to open within the next couple of days.
If your business will meet the eligibility criteria and you do not have a Business MyIR login, we would recommend getting this process underway. You can register here (https://myir.ird.govt.nz/eservices/)
Also, just a reminder that if any of your staff are required to self-isolate, then your business may be entitled to the "COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme" for (https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/covid-19/leave-support-scheme/index.html).
